Reiki is an ancient Japanese technique used for stress reduction and relaxation. It also promotes healing and the return to wholeness. Reiki actually translates to “universal life force energy”. This energy flows through all of us and allows us to be alive. When the flow of our energy is low or blocked by things such as stress, we are more likely to experience dis-ease and pain. On the other hand, if it is balanced and high, then we are more capable of being happy, healthy and enjoying life.
A Reiki treatment consists of gently laying the hands on or above the body, allowing the energy to flow through the hands of the practitioner to the person being treated. It feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through you and around you, creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being. Reiki brings the mind, body and spirit into balance thus enabling the body to heal itself.
